*sigh* Just a few more days to clear this season and I will get to go have fun this weekend. Just a few more days to get through the most hellish period in retail. Every year I swear I'm not going to spend another Christmas season in the wonderful world of retail and yet, here I am once again. I've got a lot of things to consider next year, a lot of decisions to make.
At any rate, I'm leaving right from work on friday and hopping on a bus to Toronto. Then I'm checking in at the hostel and hopping on another bus to Hamilton where I will be treated to my first, full Blackie and the Rodeo Kings concert!! Blackie is the Canadian supergroup consisting of Colin Linden (uber-producer and cool blues dude), Tom Wilson (former leader of the Hamilton rock band Junkhouse) and some guy named Stephen Fearing. After a bit of hanging out and being intimidated by Tom, I'm catching a 5 am bus back to Toronto and crashing for a few hours. I might go see a movie saturday - depending on when I drag myself to consciousness. Saturday night I'm seeing what is billed as Bambi and the Deerhunters Meets Blackie and the Rodeo Kings. The Bambi show happens every year so I'm told. It's Colin Linden and his band along with Bruce Cockburn. This year they've added on Stephen and Tom for "extra guitar coverage" which makes me a happy girl needless to say. :) The pseudonym is so that Bruce doesn't have to play his own music - I'm told they are going to be doing old R&B cover tunes all night. It should be....colourful to say the very least. ;-D
Then on new year's day - I intend to fall down and be a vegetable for the entire day. I have some other stuff to write about in here, just as soon as I have the time and ambition...maybe tomorrow...
